Back in April, we caught up with Andrew Combs, one of our favorite purveyors of modern-day Americana. Combs will play Musicians Corner this Sunday, on the closing date of our Spring 2015 Season. His must-hear album All These Dreams is available now.
You're touring through May and June. How are you getting around, are you driving yourself? Is there anywhere or anything you're particularly looking forward to?
Yeah, the band and I are just cruising around in a van right now. I do a lot of the driving, but I enjoy it. My tour in early May is going to be solo, so I'm looking forward to doing some fishing on those dates.
Whose music do you like to cover when your playing for your own enjoyment?
I've been trying to learn some Greg Brown songs recently.
What are some of your favorite places to eat and drink in Nashville?
I like to eat at Thai Phooket, and drink at Mickey's Tavern.
What's the last good concert you've been to?
My girlfriend and I went to the Father John Misty show a while back. The venue and sound weren't my favorite, but the songs and players were great.
What are your thoughts about Musicians Corner?
I think the outdoor family friendly vibe is great. I'm also a big fan of everyone that runs the show over there.
