MUSICSPEAK: MUSIC INDUSTRY PANEL SERIES
Join us this year for a new music industry panel series, MUSICSPEAK. This bi-monthly educational series will focus on a variety of compelling topics, feature a panel of respected music industry professionals, and host an hour of connection and networking over appetizers and beverages. The six MUSICSPEAK events in 2019 will take place on the last Wednesday of February, April, June, August, and October, and the second Wednesday of December.
APRIL 24 - ARTIST MANAGEMENT
Musicians Corner's MUSICSPEAK panel event on April 24th at Trimble House will focus on Artist Management 101. Come to hear music industry panelists discuss all aspects of artist management, including merchandise, sales and distribution, fan engagement, marketing and digital strategy, and more! After the panel portion of the evening, stick around for an hour of connection and networking over drinks and appetizers.

Johnny Gradone - Artist Manager at Hard 8 Working Group Management - Johnny Gradone is an artist manager with Hard 8 Working Group. H8WG has offices in Nashville, Los Angeles, and New York and are home to artists such as Billie Eilish, Hobo Johnson, R.L.U.M.R, Michelle Branch, All Time Low, Savannah Conley and many more. Johnny started his career in the music business as a touring musician which eventually led to tour managing, day to day mgmt and currently managing the careers of Savannah Conley (Low Country Sound/Elektra) and Apollo LTD (Residence/Caroline).
Lisa Jenkins - Personal Manager at Vector Management - Lisa Jenkins has been in the music business for over 30 years. She began as a personal assistant and toured throughout the world with Laura Branigan. Lisa worked at Gold Mountain Entertainment in Los Angeles and moved to Nashville to open their office here in the early 90s. While at Gold Mountain, she worked with such artists as Bela Fleck & The Flecktones, Cyndi Lauper, David Foster, The Smithereens and many others. Lisa left Gold Mountain to work at FCC Entertainment which managed The Mavericks, Lucinda Williams, Junior Brown and Jack Ingram.
She currently manages Rodney Crowell and Peter Frampton with Vector Management. She has managed Peter for over 20 years and Rodney for 3 years.
Lisa is on the President’s Council of Musicians On Call and is a member of NARAS and a Leadership Music Alum.
Aaron Sawyer- Artist Manager at Red Light Management - Aaron Sawyer is an artist manager at Red Light Management looking after the careers of I’m With Her, Chris Thile, Punch Brothers, Nickel Creek, Sean & Sara Watkins, The Lone Bellow, Margaret Glaspy, Julian Lage and Madison Cunningham. Prior to management, Aaron was a tour manager for eight years for many of the acts he manages – a job that was put in to motion while traveling all over the Midwest for concerts in his teenage years. When he is able to not take a call or respond to email, Aaron pleads with his two small children to do anything other than the music business and roasts his own coffee.
Josh Terry - Founder/CEO at Workshop Management - Josh Terry is the CEO & founder of Workshop Management and their sister divisions Workshop Projects and Workshop Songs.
Workshop Management is a full service artist management company currently representing Mayday Parade (Rise Records), I the Mighty (Equal Vision Records), Ashland (Rise Records), Bronze Radio Return (AntiFragile Music), Grammy nominated producer Chad Copelin and songwriters Marie Miller & Emily Kopp.
The branding division Workshop Projects specializes in connecting corporate brands & their audiences with music related projects. Recent partnerships include Ford, Southwest, Full Sail University, AirBNB, Aloft Hotels, Twix, Hilton & many others. The music licensing division Workshop Songs represents 10 curated sync specific artists in securing placement in film, TV, advertising & podcasts. Recent placements include licenses with Mercedes-Benz, Mazda, Sworn podcast, Hulu, Red Lobster as well as spots in TV shows on HBO, Showtime, Hallmark Channel, MTV, NBC, ABC, FOX and CBS.
Prior to founding Workshop Management, Terry served as Vice President for Aware Records & A-Squared Management in Chicago for 9 years. Aware Records was an independent record label operating under a joint venture deal with Columbia Records & Republic Records and helped launch the careers of John Mayer, Train, Five For Fighting, Mat Kearney & Guster among others. A-Squared Management was a boutique artist management firm who’s client roster included The Fray, Mat Kearney, A Rocket To The Moon, Motion City Soundtrack, Brandi Carlile, Jack’s Mannequin, Michelle Branch, Mae and This Providence among others. Prior to his time at Aware, he was a tour manager for artists such as Howie Day, Jump Little Children & Motion City Soundtrack.
